NC legislative committee reviewing the methods auto insurance rate
Raleigh, NC - North Carolina’s automobile insurance rates among the lowest in the country, but a pool of drivers for hundreds of thousands of vehicles does not work very well, officials of industry, told lawmakers Wednesday.
A general assembly met for the first time to examine, modify how the state sets the rates of automobile insurance. The group also intends to ensure that dangerous drivers pay their fair share for coverage.
“If the regulatory system in the village, we have the best system we have?” asked the Senate majority leader Tony board, D-Cumberland, co-chairman of the Joint Committee on studies in automobile insurance modernization.
