Innovative new public-private partnership created to improve the health and health in public schools
Raleigh, NC - (BUSINESS WIRE) - The North Carolina State Health Plan today launched an innovative program to improve health and health in North Carolina public schools. STAR-The six partners are the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, the North Carolina State Health Plans, North Carolina Division of Public Health, the North Carolina State Board of Education, the North Carolina School Superintendents’ Association and Pfizer Inc.
Lieutenant Governor Bev Perdue officially launched this initiative underlines its importance: “With the commitment of the State on the site of Well-Being, we have clearly established that we do not stand and observe a decline in productivity, while costs for medical care and inefficiency up. Seven schools from across the state are participating in the pilot year of the STAR program. Clinton City schools, schools Jackson County, Macon County Schools, New Hanover County Schools, Robeson County Schools, schools and Vance County Warren County all schools, health STAR yard challenge.
